Insecure Writers Support Group and The Muffin Commando Squad Meets the Kargrandes

February 4, 2015 By C. Lee McKenzie

Thanks ALEX CAVANAUGH
The LINKY’s at the bottom ( if Blogger hasn’t done another fail on me). Visit some others and boost their SECURITY.

Nobody escapes the thought that they may not MAKE it. They may not SUCCEED. They may not be the BEST or win an AWARD. Even the most successful among us have considered this emotion, this very real part of our human condition. Here are some of the quotes I dug up to share with you on this February IWSG Wednesday.

  • “There is no such thing as perfect security, only varying levels of insecurity.” Salman Rushdie
  • “It’s insecurity that is always chasing you and standing in the way of your dreams.” Vin Diesel

        And then there was Diane

  • “Insecurity is a waste of time.” Diane von Furstenberg

SIGN UP TODAY!

Let me introduce The Muffin Commando Squad. The very fun, very exciting and very capable Yvonne Ventresca, Patricia Lynne, Elizabeth Seckman, Tara Tyler, Tammy Theriault, Carrie Butler and Tyrean Martinson are the Muffins with the most fiber in town. We’re going to be one super team.

MATUSIC

And what are those Kargrandes? Anyone?
The Muffins are armed and ready if they show up.

Here’s our team’s
Head Muffin. Doesn’t that make you want to sign up, like, now?

PERFECT: "Insecurity is a waste of time." Diane von Furstenberg
    Great post. 😉

A Muffin Commando squad? They won't steal my muffins, will they?

Insecurity is a waste of time. Loved that quote. So is guilt. Yet, they affect us all.

  3. Carrie Butler says

    February 8, 2015 at 8:44 pm

Woohoo! Can't wait to get to work. 😀

Thanks for dropping by my blog on Blitz Day!

Great quotes! If only the third one was easier to remember whenever insecurity acts up, haha.

Also, a Muffin Commando Squad? How fun! Looks like you're in good company… 🙂

The Muffin Commandos. lol You guys are going to ROCK the A-Z!! I'm not very insecure anymore. I've accepted I'm not going to "make it," but I'm proud of myself for making such a big effort. And it's really true that if you do what you love, it doesn't matter if you're successful or not. You just enjoy doing it. 🙂

    February 7, 2015 at 12:41 pm

Yay for your Muffin Commando Squad!! Armed and ready for action!

    Here's one to ponder:
The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our 'behind-the-scenes' with everyone else's 'highlight reel'!

  8. Stephanie Faris says

    February 6, 2015 at 9:58 pm

I think the problem is, it's never enough. No matter how much you achieve in your career, you still feel as though you haven't made it yet. I'm not sure any writer feels like they've made it…because there's always someone doing more-always some goal you haven't achieved yet.

Muffins rock! Love the quotes on insecurity!

  10. debi o'neille says

Great quotes on insecurity. I have a little box I put all mine in when I have work to do. Some days, I don't even let them out for a breath of air. 🙂

  11. Arlee Bird says

    February 6, 2015 at 5:51 pm

Good insecurity quotes. The way I see it, if you aren't a bit insecure then you can become overconfident and that can blind you and ultimately knock you down to a level of greater insecurity.

I have to agree that Diane said it best.

I like a muffin, unfortunately I live on a grain free diet. Still on the fence about A to Z

I love all those quotes about insecurity. And that sure is a cute, gun-slinging muffin. 😉

Love the quotes and they are so true…if only we could get those insecurity ants off our brains:) The muffin squad sounds hilarious to me

No, we can't all be the award winning authors, but it would still be sweet to achieve. Just once. Of course, then we'd say, Just Twice! Great quotes.

Not everyone can be the best and win the award. Doesn't mean we don't all have something to contribute to this world—and beating those insecurities is the only way to do it. Thanks for the quotage!

Thanks for sharing those quotes - it's good to know that we aren't alone in our insecurities.

  28. Hart Johnson says

It's a good reminder that even big names have some insecurity. As for the muffin commando squad, I will have to check it out.

  31. M Pax says

I want a muffin! Send one over! As long as we learn to love the journey, we can't fail. Right? That's how I see it… but I have sick head and I'm not thinking straight.

Dianne definitely has a point. Very simple, be so true. Love your A to Z logo. #snort!

Cute muffin! You know, if it had cheese in it, I would totally be there. As it is, I'm not making too many commitments. I could be out of commission at the drop of a hat.
