Quote of the Week: “Destiny is a name often given in retrospect to choices that had dramatic consequences.” J.K. Rowling
Interesting quotes to think about. Love seeing all the covers an titles. 🙂
~Jess
Some catchy titles for sure:) I like the covers too:)
I find I don't actually totally agree with these. Personally, writing it neither exercise nor exploration…it's an escape. A releasing of steam, if you would.
Haven't come across that Terry Pratchett quote before. It's a great one. I've nearly finished the anthology, so I've read all these authors' stories. Excellent work one and all!
Enjoyed the quotes and I added your new cover/blurb on my post today.
Love that quote by Stein. So hard to abide by.
Damyanti
Ah, I do love Terry Pratchett. Great quote. And that title: Almost Adept. Now I'm curious.
Thanks so much for featuring the anthology again. I've loved seeing my co-authors' quotes. Cheers – Ellen
Great quotes. I'm looking forward to reading the anthology as soon as I catch up with what I have now.
These are indeed inspirational.
Have a great one, Lee.
Wishing the anthology writers all the best with this collection! Hope you're having a good week! 🙂
Congratulations to the Anthology writers.
Love the quotes.
Juneta @ Writer's Gambit
I definitely feel inspired now. Thank you so much 🙂
Thanks again for featuring the anthology!
I'm enjoying learning more about these wonderful authors. Thanks for featuring them.
Good quote, but is the Mark Twain quote really one of his? I rememeber he didn't particularly have a fond time of sailing when he was on the Sandwich (now Hawaii) Islands.
I'd have to check that out. He's purported to have said just about everything!
Wonderful quotes from even more wonderful writers. I love the reminders.
I'm glad to have met so many new writers through this anthology.
It takes much effort, logic, wisdom to achieve the upper spiritual calm needed to write a successful book. I will make it so one day.
I'm sure you will.
Mark Twain has so many great quotes about writing and life.
Terry Pratchett, Mark Twain, Gertrude Stein… teachers we can still learn from.
Thanks for all of your support, C. Lee. Loved the quotes!
I like the Mark Twain quote. It reminds us to DO.
Come it shall indeed as those muscles sure get stretched away with each word we say…or type.
Here's to building those muscles.
I love these quotes, especially Ellen's. Interesting how literally she's taken Mark Twain's advice.
I figure that's whey we live on a sailboat – Mark Twain thinks it's a good idea 🙂
"Sail away from the safe harbor"–this sounds like a great story.
I enjoyed them.
Loved all the inspiring quotes. All so true and I need to hear them all. Awesome how you're supporting all these writers, Lee.
They write good stories. You have to support writers like that. 🙂 You do it all the time, Natalie.
I agree with Mark Twain!
He's the most quotable man who ever lived–well, almost.
Hi, Cheryl!
These are excellent quotes, all of them. Mark Twain's is empowering. Gertrude Stein's observation "that creation must take place between the pen and the paper, not before in a thought or afterwards in a recasting… It will come if it is there and if you will let it come” is an exciting concept. Your quote from J.K. Rowling is smart, wise and true. My favorite quote is the one by Terry Pratchett. The journey's the thing, even if you are on an exercise bike that doesn't take you anywhere.
Enjoy your week, dear friend Cheryl!
Ha! Love that Terry Pratchett.
I keep forgetting about the IWSG anthology. I'll have to write and edit something soon.
Hope this post nudged you into remembering. :-0
It is the regrets of what we didn't do that hit us the hardest in the end.
Thank you again for featuring the authors of Hero Lost this month.
"Should have" is not a good phrase.
Think in terms of discovery. I like that!
Good quote.
Thanks for sharing more about Hero Lost – it certainly sounds interesting.
I enjoyed reading the collection.
