This week I was so thankful for being able to focus on Small Things. There were too many big, serious, hairy things coming at me, and the little things helped me keep focused and sane.
I didn’t have much time, but when the sun came out I took a few minutes to sit on the deck, sip a coffee and stare out over the forest. It had been several weeks since the weather was inviting enough to do that. The cat immediately found my lap. The pesky squirrel, that’s forever burying, and then digging up nuts in my plants, scolded me for interrupting his regular schedule. He finally left in a huff. The cat stretched and said, “Good riddance.”
So that was my Small Thing: a moment in the sun with lap warmed by Cat and a small victory over a squirrel that usually has his way with my flower pots.
Be sure to Hop over to all of these sites, say hi, enjoy a few more Small Things in other people’s lives.

That's one small thing that can be a real big thing! It can set the day on the right track and help you to be thankful for the small things.

Simply gorgeous view! Looks like my old stomping grounds in California. Oh, how I miss being able to head to Santa Cruz on a whim – even after all these years living in AZ. So glad you got to enjoy that view!

Considering the picture of your cat, I can absolutely picture him saying "Good riddance" to the squirrel. ROFL! 😀

That sounds like a heavenly moment in the sun. Thanks for sharing that! It's been a very rainy, cloudy week here so it was nice to picture a moment in the sun. However, my cat has been keeping me company this week . . she cuddles when anyone in our household is sick with a cold. She's kind of a purring comforter.

It's the squirrels that usually have the small victory over me. They keep stealing my mail.
