First and most important is that Graham Best has generously sent me copies of his wonderfully illustrated and beautifully written book, The Tightrope Walker’s Dream.
I featured his book earlier this year, but because it’s Christmas I wanted to offer another visitor a chance to win Graham’s book. It probably won’t come in time for Christmas, but you can start your new year by winning and enjoying his story.
Just leave a comment about what dream has turned into reality after you let your heart lead the way.
Merry Christmas all. I look forward to seeing you here and at your own special places in the blogosphere in 2011.

Ditto Stina's dream! I never, ever thought I'd be writing seriously, and now I'm VERY serious. I've grown as a writer this past year, and I look forward to more growth in 2010.

I am writing in earnest, instead of just wondering if I can do it. I've published some nonfiction and poetry, to my surprise. That is a dream come true for me!

Without dreams where would we be? I love each and every one of these.

Merry Christmas, Lee!
I first had a dream to be published in magazines, that was accomplished. Now next is my book! 🙂 But most importantly, I always dreamed of being a mom, and that's my favorite part of life.

My dream of becoming a writer has been fulfilled in many small successes that I treasure. The big one of having a book published is still out there, but it seems to be getting a little closer. Congrats to all of you who have made it!

Seeing Jazz in Love to publication has been a long-held wish for me, and this year, I finally took the bull by the horns and made it happen :).

Well, I guess I thought of a sleeping dream first, but I think it's applicable, so here goes!:
It began with me running away from all the people I love and hiding from them, though I was hiding in plain sight, waiting for someone to see me. Funnily enough, my 11th grade English teacher finds me, despite not even realizing that he has found me: he simply addresses a question to me in class as though I had always been there, and then poof! I was; he found me, everyone can finally see me. At that point in the dream I try to run away again, but fall down, exposed to everyone in the room. Although it felt like I should have been crying, I was smiling instead.
*end dream*
I guess, although it wasn't a dream as in a hope for the future, it still portrayed my reality: how I felt invisible when I was awake. Funny how all I had to do was realize that I made myself invisible by always trying to runaway. I couldn't be found, seen until I allowed myself to be vulnerable, until I stopped trying to fade away. It took me following my subconscious heart to make me understand, and when I woke up that morning, I really was smiling. My dream was as true in wakefulness as it was in sleep.

Hmm… my dream of having a book published is coming true after I gave up on it. I'm not even sure if that counts! Happy holidays to you, Lee.

My dream has been to find an agent and get my MG and YA books published. I'm getting closer with some agent requests, but another dream that did come true this year was getting a contract for one of my picture books. It's set to come out in March 2011.

I'm still pursuing my writing dream of landing a book deal. But I feel like it's getting a little more within reach. The more work I do, the closer it gets!
