So much going on out there in the blogger world that keeping up is a full time job. I don’t know how you guys do it. I even went out and bought a bunch of carrots to dangle in front of my nose, and I can’t slog fast enough.
First I won this very charming Versatile Blogger Award from Writing Through College, so I wanted to thank her and follow through on my Award-Etiquette. Here’s my instructions:
1. In a post on your, blog, nominate 15 fellow bloggers for The Versatile Blogger Award.
3. In the same post, thank the blogger who nominated you in a post with a link back to their blog.
4. In the same post, share 7 completely random pieces of information about yourself.
5. In the same post, include this set of rules.
6. Inform each nominated blogger of their nomination by posting a comment on each of their blogs.
Here’s one of my favorite quotes about writing: ” . . . a writer’s speciality [is] to deal with taboos, to speak the unspoken, to reveal, to uncover, to show in the interaction of people the difference between what we profess and how we act.” Lionel Trilling

Thanks, Lee, and congrats, Alex! I'm a coffee nut too. I quite all of my other bad habits.

Here's a quote from my Martin Luther King Jr. post: "If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way."
Leslie Rose says
Thank you so much, Lee. It's great to get an award and not have to get my hair colored or wear panty hose to accept it. I can't wait to pop around and visit new friends.
C. Lee McKenzie says
LOL I hadn't thought about that, but, yes, this is the best way to receive an award–in your hoodie before you have any makeup smeared on your face. 🙂
BragonDorn says
I agree with your quote. If we don't stray from the path we will never grow intellectually and never grow forward. We must conquer Taboos and break barriers!

Hi Lee! Thank you so much for passing this award on to me! Congrats to you on receiving it, and I always enjoy the little tidbits of your life that you share with us. I'm especially thankful to you for sharing your parenting story. It's a good one, with a happy outcome. Yay! I'm enjoying your book, SLIDING ON THE EDGE. I've been so exhausted lately with moving on the weekends and babysitting Punkin full time that I'm a zombie when I get home. Too tired to unpack much or blog much, so reading is saving my sanity, calming me so I can get to sleep. I'm only about a third of the way into it, but I really love these characters and can't wait for Shawna's grandmother to reveal the story of her father to her. And Kenny, what a character! I really like him. Have a great week, Lee!
C. Lee McKenzie says
That's really nice of you to mention Sliding and that you're enjoying the characters. Appreciate that, Lyn.
Adrienne says
Congratulations, Lee! Number 4 is impressive! And as for coffee, I can't even see straight until I've had my morning cup.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I fall over a lot while I'm practicing, but like my instructor says, "You have more fun that way."
Samantha says
My family is obsessed with wine. I kid you not, it has its own special cabinet.
Thanks for the tag! You so deserved the award 🙂
Carrie Butler says
Congratulations on the award, Lee! I think a little wine is in order. 😉
C. Lee McKenzie says
Yep. I'm thinking along those same lines. Thanks for stopping by, Carrie.
Darby Karchut says
Thanks for the shout-out, C. Lee! And I can't cook anything. Sad. But yes indeed to the hiking thing! 🙂
C. Lee McKenzie says
Hiking rules, Darby. Cooking takes a back seat to being on a trail any day.

Aw…thanks, C.Lee! I'm all over your number 6!!
And Alex is awesome, isn't he?
C. Lee McKenzie says
Someday we might just share a glass of that stuff and talk writing!
Emailman says
Thank you so much, Lee, for the Versatile Blogger Award 🙂 I feel all special now lol And thank you even more for the kind offer in your email.
I'm not a coffee person myself, being English and all that. I only drink tea hehe!!

Love the comment about the carrots. I need some! Thank you for the award. You are so sweet!
C. Lee McKenzie says
Maybe a bottle of Chardonnay would work better than carrots?
Jessie Harrell says
Thank you, Lee! I appreciate the blogger award (although I confess, I will not be passing it on. Bad me.) but you've included me in some great company!
I've also recently seen coffee become even more of a staple in my diet. I'm not sure, but it's possible caffeine makes me more tired, not less. Although, I KNOW wine makes me more tired. LOL!
C. Lee McKenzie says
Not a problem, Jessie. Awards do take time, but I appreciate that blogger want to include me in their company this way.
Fairday Morrow says

I actually got one? That's amazing. And mum's the word until you say so. It's too early for champagne, but later I'm celebrating.
Fairday Morrow says
Hope you broke out the champagne! I always love to try riddles- some days they are easier to solve than other days!
By the way- I love to hike too. I try to get out there and spend time in nature every time I have a chance! 🙂

I am right there with you on the coffee and comedy, and the "edgy sadness"–I get that too.
🙂
Have a great week!

We'd make great neighbors!
