The idea of #InkRipples is to toss a word, idea, image, whatever into the inkwell and see what kind of ripples it makes. They provide the topics and will be blogging about them on the first Monday of the month. You can spread your own ripples by blogging about the topic any day of the month that fits your schedule, just be sure to include links back to Katie, Kai, and Mary.
This month #InkRipples goes to the movies. So here are the movies from the Write Game’s perspective. I’ve been casting movies of Sign of the Green Dragon on Pinterest, and I had fun gathering actors to portray my characters. Today I’m casting the two leads for Drawn. Chris has final say, of course, but here are my suggestions.
How about David Dust in the role of Cameron?
And for Farrah would this lovely be okay? Here’s an irony: this actor’s name is Dove Cameron.
Quote for the Week: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Albert Einstein.
Oooh, cool concept! I didn't expect that turn.

Love the cover. This sounds like a great read.
Hi, Lee:)
Thanks Sandra!!
that is not a bad cover actually! One of our publishers here has that style of split picture covers too, and I've always kinda liked it, but our covers here are almost always of much better quality than those in USA which always shocks me to no extent, which goes for blurbs too, not because I write them myself here 🙂
Thanks for stopping by. I love my cover designer. Jay Aheer http://www.jayscoversbydesign.com
Chris, the book sounds wonderful! Best of luck to you. Congratulations!
Thank you, Joylene!
The premise for DRAWN sounds quite unique!
Those are such fresh-faced up-and-coming stars. I have no idea who they are…
Thanks Michelle.
That Einstein knew a thing or two about creativity. Love the quote: "Imagination is more important than knowledge." Superb.
Thanks for stopping by.
The premise for the books is intriguing. Best of luck with them.
Thanks Sherry!
Such beautiful faces in this post. Sounds like he is off to a great start!!!
@Kathleen01930 Blog
Thanks so much, Kathleen!
Chris, both books sound so wonderful and intriguing. Way to go! Best of luck to you. Thanks, C.Lee, for spotlighting Chris and spreading the word about his work!
Thanks S.A. Larsen!!
Congrats, Chris. Interesting premise.
Hi, Lee. *waves*
Thanks Melissa!
It's so nice to read that Chris is now encouraging kiddies to read. I was also a reluctant reader as a child and especially as a teenager – mainly because the school chose what you HAD to read. It wasn't until my daughter was born that I actually used to enjoy reading. My daughter subsequently loved to read from an early age and now we are both avid readers and often talk about books! Great post and super intriguing premise.
Thanks for stopping by and supporting, Nicola!
I have to reach those reluctant readers. 🙂
Wow, didn't expect Drawn to take such a dark and supernatural turn when I started reading the premise. Can't help but be intrigued by this series!
Thanks for stopping by, Heather.
Truly an interesting post, Lee. Wonderful book, Chris. All the luck with it. The two actors look right for the roles. They are young and beautiful. Thanks for sharing this with your followers, Lee. All the best.
Thanks for stopping by, Victoria.
I can picture Dust as that character. I look forward to Chris's next book.
Thanks so much for stopping by and supporting, Medeia!
Hi Lee and Chris,
Well, I was certainly "Drawn" in by all of this. Awesome stuff and nothing like a mysterious sketchbook. Fascinating blurb and yes, I have to keep remembering that a "blurb" is a short description of a book and not something to do with indigestion. *Blurb!*…pardon me…
Thanks for having Chris visit your must-read blog site, Lee.
Penny's fictional character,
Gary
Thanks for stopping by, Gary. 🙂
Sounds like an interesting read. Best of luck, Chris!
Thanks for stopping by, Yvonne.
Or me right in. *blushes*
Anna from elements of emaginette

The blurb sucked my right in. 🙂
Anna from elements of emaginette
YAYAY! Thanks for stopping by, Anna.
Oh wow, this sounds like a very unique read! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Shooting Stars Mag.
LOL, not that I posted the 2nd comment I see the first. I looked over them twice and never saw it. ROFL
Just a small blind spot. I have huge ones!
I know I already posted a comment on this one but do not see it. I wonder if I failed to hit publish> OH well,
Congrats, very interesting premise. Lee like you actor picks.
Juneta @ Writer's Gambit
Thanks again, Juneta. I saw your earlier comment. 🙂
I like the idea behind the story. It started off sounding so familiar and then takes a left turn into fantasy–cool. You picked quite an attractive pair to be in the movie.
It's getting harder to be original, so I take my hat off to anyone who can change up an old story and make it fresh.
Thanks for stopping by, Tamara. Glad you like the premise.
Interesting premise. I find it fascinating when people cast books. Everyone sees the characters so differently.
I think I'll post on fb and do a comparison between my choice and the author's.
Thanks for stopping by, Liz.
I love that quote! This is a great premise for a book and sounds exciting and thrilling.
Hope you'll give a read, Brigit. I found Einstein's quote very interesting.
Thanks for stopping by, Birgit.
Chris's premise is certainly one I haven't heard of before, and he did a great job of laying out the stakes. Wishing him and DRAWN much success!
Thanks, Lexa!
Thanks for stopping by, Lexa.
Lee, thanks for introducing me to Chris – wishing him well! Love the idea of writing for reluctant readers. We need more great books just for them. 🙂 Have a great week!
Isn't it great when a reluctant reader turns into a writer? They understand what will hook kids.
Thanks for stopping by, Karen.
I remember seeing Inked around and being curious about the plot. Now I want to read book 1 and 2. Wishing Chris the best of luck. These sound fascinating! 🙂
~Jess
Chris will love that!
Thank you for stopping by, Jess.
This book sounds awesome! Good and freaky 🙂
Hi, Lee!
Hi Carol! So glad to see you. Miss your comments, but know you're dealing with that commute these days. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Carol.
Thank you all for coming and commenting!
As I said above, I think David Dust could be a perfect Cameron! He may even be THE perfect casting! Nice pick!
Dove Cameron as Farrah is a weeee bit off. Her eyes could be a bit more blue. Her cheeks could bear a few more freckles. Her hair could be a bit redder. But of course, that's what cinema hair and makeup is for. 🙂
I will say this, my mind's image of Farrah matches closely to an actress named Bella Thorne. (too bad I can't post a pic here.)
Thanks again for everyone who stopped by! <3
Thank you again!
Let's put it up on fb with my post for you there. That will work.
Congrats to Chris! Drawn and Inked sound like great books. I love the premise of the first book.
Thank you for stopping by, Cherie. Great to hear from you again.
Chris, Drawn sounds great! Lee, I'm so bad at play-casting. I can never think of any current young actors. Looks like you nailed it though.
Thank you for stopping by.
Congratulations Chris.
I firmly believe that art (whatever genre) has power. Sometimes scary power.
Though nothing I draw could be considered art. My subjects are safe.
Thank you for stopping by. 🙂
Congrats to Chris! And I love this post and the quote is great.
Thank you for stopping by, Kelly.
Congrats Chris! I really like the idea behind this.
Thank you for stopping by, Nick.
Congrats to Chris! And I love that quote. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by, Christine.
Congrats on the new book, Chris!
And it's always fun to imagine what actors would play the characters in your book.
Thank you for stopping by, Katie.
Congrats to Chris! That's too funny that we're writing about the same thing. I'll have to check out your Pinterest page. I started doing that with my first book on Pinterest but haven't done anything with it lately. Time to get back into it. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by, Lori.
Sounds a bit like my story, Picture Perfect, but with a delightful, riveting twist. Highest of sales, Chris! And the photos seem spot on. Like Alex, I wonder what Chris thinks of them.
Thank you for stopping by, Roland. Good to hear from you again. My comments on the picks is tagged on the first comment above. I may just re post below though.
Her soul is in the sketch? That sounds really cool. Congrats to Chris!
I know! And there's not much time to save her or him.
Thank you for stopping by, Chrys.
Congrats Chris. Lee like your picks. Wishing you much success.
Juneta @ Writer's Gambit
I'm waiting for Chris to give me the thumbs up.
Thank you for stopping by, Juneta.
Congrats to Chris! Sounds like a great series and I love the covers. I meant to join in on InkRipples last time I saw it on your blog and of course it slipped my mind the second I left your page. Maybe this time I will actually remember long enough to check it out.
The topics are fun. The posts can be integrated into other posts easily. Jump in!
Julie, we'd love to have you join!
Thank you for stopping by, Julie.
Best of luck to Chris! How sweet of you to pick him a few characters. My niece will do that for me. I was fired from my job as casting director.
Ha! Then thank goodness for that niece.
Thank you for stopping by, Elizabeth.
Wow, the book set in Wilmington NC–I grew up there!
Then you must have it!
Thank you for stopping by, Sage. I hope you read my stories. If you grew up in Wilmington, you'll recognize a lot of places and names. Britt's Donuts figures prominently. 🙂
Congratulations, Chris! I love those covers!
Evernight Teen does choose great covers.
Thank you for stopping by, Dianne. I LURVE my cover artist! She does such great work. The girls on both Drawn and Inked covers were hand drawn by my cover artist. 🙂
What an intriguing idea for a story. I wonder how it all turns out.
Great choices for the book, Lee.
A good quote to remember.
I liked that Einstein said it.
Thank you for stopping by, Beverly.
Ooo, I'm going to have to check into Chris's books!
Jump in and ask to win them.
Thank you for stopping by, Bish.
There's a Goodreads giveaway on right now!
Hi Lee and Chris .. I like the concept of your book … and what can be weaved into the pages of those 20 days … good luck – those two actors look good suggestions – cheers Hilary
It's a fun tale.
Thank you for stopping by, Hilary.
Congrats to Chris!!! Nice job on matching the characters to the book. 🙂
I had fun doing that.
Thank you for stopping by, Tyrean.
Congrats, Chris. Never even heard of your picks before haha so out of the loop.
Believe me I hadn't heard of them either.
Thanks for stopping by, Pat.
Yeah, I don't know either one of those actors. haha
Congrats to Chris on being featured this month and her upcoming book. And it's fun to envision actors for our books as well as those we've read.
I've been in touch with Chris for quite some time. I didn't realize we'd interacted for years until I looked back. He's a nice guy,
Thank you for stopping by, Natalie.
I like the quote – but it brought to mind a certain candidate for president. He imagines himself as president but without intelligence/knowledge we're all doomed. 🙂
Congratulations to Chris! I love your picks. Great job matching the characters on the cover. Love the premise!
We are in a bit of a mess!
I think these actors might be good. Let's see what Chris says.
Thanks for stopping by, Yolanda.
Congratulations Chris, hope all goes well.
Yvonne.
Thanks for congrats. I know Chris will appreciate it.
Thanks, Yvonne!!!
A big congratulations to Chris! Your picks sound like they'd be perfect for the roles.
They are darlin', aren't they?
Thank you for stopping by!
Congratulations, Chris. Be curious to hear what he thinks of your picks.
Hope he weighs in!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for hosting me and reading Drawn. I am so glad you enjoyed it. Lovely review, too. <3

Thanks for stopping by Alex! Good to hear from you again. 🙂
Send me an actress or anyone you'd pick, Chris. Let's compare.
I put it up on FB. 🙂
