Anyone who knows me knows, I love Halloween. It’s my favorite holiday of the year. So having L.X. Cain here this month with her new book is a real treat. I’m so looking forward to opening that cover and diving into the horror that the cover promises.
Take it away, Lexa!
New Release!
BLOODWALKER by L.X. Cain
Lightning flashes. Another child disappears…
When Zorka Circus performs, its big top roars with laughter and cheers, but when it moves on, there are fewer children in the European towns it leaves behind.
Circus Security Chief Rurik suspects a killer hides among the international performers, but they close ranks—they’ve always viewed lightning-scarred Rurik as the monster. Nevertheless, he’s determined to find the culprit and stop them before anyone else dies and the only place he can call home is ripped apart by the murders.
Into Zorka Circus comes the Skomori clan, despised as gravediggers and ghoulish bloodwalkers. A one-day truce allows bloodwalker Sylvie to marry. Instead, she finds a body. Alerting others will defy her clan’s strict rules, break the truce, and leave her an outcast.
When more bodies turn up, the killer’s trail becomes impossible to ignore. Rurik and Sylvie must follow the clues—even if they lead to something unimaginable.
“YA horror novelist Cain (Soul Cutter) steps right up to the center ring in this captivating shocker of children disappearing after the circus comes to town.” ~ Publishers Weekly

Hi Lee! Hi Lexa!
Just seeing that cover brings ghostly tingles to my arms! Awesome. I remember when Lexa needed help choosing from more than one great cover and i think this choice is brilliant. Looking forward to reading it!
And thanks for the WEP shout out.Due to hurricanes and other life disasters, several devotees can't find the time this month, so it's great to see some new people who weren't in the path of Matthew! 🙂

Great post Lee. Not far from the town where I live is a place called the New Forest where animals roam freely. There are many witchcraft shops located there and this time of the year is extremely busy. I have already bought my broomstick…lol.
Yvonne.

Hi, Cheryl Lee!
Halloween is my favorite holiday, too, always has been, and Lexa's Bloodwalker is the ideal read for the season. All my life I have been fascinated by the circus and the glamour, mystery, suspense, danger, thrills and excitement that surround it. The plot of Bloodwalker reminds me of the 1960 horror/suspense film Circus of Horrors which follows a traveling circus plagued by fatal accidents among members of the troupe, accidents that are revealed to be homicides. It also brings to mind the 1981 horror flick The Funhouse which takes place at a traveling carnival that leaves behind a trail of dead bodies when it pulls up stakes and moves on to the next town. It also reminds me of a TV series that I will salute in a post on Oct. 22. Stay tuned! 🙂
Thanks for the review of Lexa's book, dear friend Cheryl Lee!

Nothing new under the sun, my gram always said. Fortunately, there's always a twist that can freshen an old story.
Cheryl Lee is what my gram called me when I'd done something I shouldn't have. Ah, the memories.

Bookie lust suitably ignited. Thank you – and congratulations to Lexa.
And, which I gather is topical at the moment, I vote for a clown culprit. I. DO. NOT. TRUST. CLOWNS.
