I finally jumped into the A to Z Blogging Challenge. April is already CRAZY MAD, so why not up the pace? Not logical? Absolutely. A little CRAZY MADNESS has to be good for the writer brain. And speaking of brains here’s my A DAY post.
ACTIVE
I found an article on Sonny Rollins (age 81) a saxophone giant who hasn’t stopped practicing his instrument or become a rest home denizen. This Grammy winner revolutionized jazz and he recently was awarded a Kennedy Center Honor.
My kind of guy. He’s been an ACTIVE yogi since 1968. Here’s what he says about his life and yoga.
Yoga “has made me more serious person, which I hope transfers into my music. . . [it’s] always there to keep me engaged in a spiritual pursuit–to trump the negative with positive ideas.”

If you want a taste of beautiful saxophone here’s SONNY ROLLINS on youtube with an interview in 2011.
Be sure to HOP around and say hi to others who are in on this wildly wonderful A-Z Blog Challenge.

I practice yoga as well, but not as often lately as I'd like! A.J. Had a great idea to have us post our first A to Z posts! I'm loving seeing how far we have all come… Lisa, co-host AtoZ 2015, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com

I am going to up my yoga from three times a week to three times a day. I am huge Sonny Rollins fan. OMG, that list, it has almost 2000 names.
Charmaine Clancy says
OMG look at that list!
After a couple of frumpy years, I've taken back to the gym to get active. I do find it helps clear my mind as well so I can write.

Sonny Rollins is huge in the jazz canon. My fave is Milt Jackson, who I got to see in person way back when. His album Sunflower is my favorite of any album ever. Yes, staying active no matter what age is a good thing!

When we keep the mind and body active, we can do so much more for so much longer.

What a great post! I love jazz- it always makes me feel like dancing. I also find yoga to be so relaxing. I do some yoga breathing each day. What a fabulous clip you included- I enjoyed the interview and hearing some of his music, too!
