Yep! It’s time to tidy up this here blog and get set up for April. So here’s my Spring Cleaning Post.
Amazon |
This month’s Featured Follower has been Bish Denham. And what a wonderful follower Bish is. We’ve been playing tag with each other since I started this blog in 2007. Holy Molly, folks! That’s ten years.
Well, after that shock here’s a bit about Email Connect, which The Write Game’s small contribution to helping authors.
Read and review your book (Amazon and Goodreads) and mark it as “Am Reading/Read” on Goodreads.
Feature you on The Write Game two times.
Post your cover on Pinterest under Covers That Catch My Eye.
Feature you/your book on Email Connect that goes out on the 1st and 15th of each month.
Post on fb and link to your review.
Each Wednesday post tweets about your book three times throughout the day.
I’ll be skipping a Featured Follower in April, but stay tuned for who the next author will be in May.
IWSG News:

The #AtoZ 2017
I was all set to do the #AtoZChallenge this year, when whammo, my already damaged shoulder started giving me fits. Now, it’s affecting my right arm and hand, so hi ho, hi ho it’s off to therapy I go. AGAIN. Since I have to keep my typing to a minimum, I’ll be cheerleading this year, but the good news is I have 2018 all ready to go.
Young Adult Scavenger Hunt
#YASH/ @YAScavengerHunt is on again and I’ll be posting how to enter soon. And since it’s only on from Tuesday, April 4th at 12 pm Pacific Time to Sunday, April 9th at noon Pacific time, my doctor says I can do it. Hope you’ll support the Blue Team and try to win some books. Take a look at the books we’re giving away.
Here’s to a wonderful and exciting April. I’ll pop in and during the #AtoZ alphabet marathon with my pom poms and some encouragement. Have you joined #IWSG Goodreads Book Club? Will you take part in the #IWSGPit? Are you #AtoZing?
DMS says
Congrats to EC for winning one of Bish's books!
So sorry to hear about your shoulder, arm and hand. Hope therapy has you feeling better soon. 🙂

Kate Larkindale says
I'm not A-Zing this year either (mainly because I forgot about it). Hope your shoulder feels better soon.
Tamara Narayan says
Yes, I'll be doing A to Z and the IWSG pitch fest. I better get to work! Hope your shoulder gets better soon.
Donna K. Weaver says
Are you getting ready for A to Z?
C. Lee McKenzie says
Guess you didn't read the part about that little issue. 🙂
Sherry Ellis says
Hope your shoulder feels better soon! The pitch party is an interesting concept. I hope it's successful!
C. Lee McKenzie says
I believe in being well, so I'm dedicating myself to doing just that. Thanks, Sherry.
Yolanda Renée says
Sorry to hear about your shoulder! My leg is about the same, fell on the ice and now hip, leg, and knee are giving me fits. But only when I use them! LOL
So much going on, wow!
C. Lee McKenzie says
I hear what you're saying. As long as you don't do anything, nothing hurts.
Beverly Stowe McClure says
Hope your shoulder is better soon. The pitch party sounds like fun. Take care of yourself.
C. Lee McKenzie says
It should be fun and a bit overwhelming, too, based on the one I've seen.
debi o'neille says
Ouch! Shoulder pain doesn't sound fun. I hope therapy goes well and you're up and at what you do best in no time. 🙂
C. Lee McKenzie says
I didn't know shoulders could be so darned painful and affect so many other parts of me. I've learned something new this year and it's only March.
Nick Wilford says
So sorry about your shoulder. You're right, I don't think the Challenge would be kind to it. Email Connect sounds like a large and generous contribution to me. What a great help for authors!
C. Lee McKenzie says
Hi Nick! Thanks for the lovely comment.
Mason Canyon says
Congrats to E.C. for winning Bish's book. Hope your shoulder is better soon. Sounds like a lot of good things going on in April.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I love April. Everything's so fresh and clean.
J.H. Moncrieff says
Yikes! Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I hope it gets better soon.
I'll be blogging regularly, but skipping the Challenge this year. I'll miss it in many ways, though.
As for IWSGPit, I hope to participate and I've already joined the Goodreads group–what great ideas!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. *hugs*
C. Lee McKenzie says
I'm so glad you're a part of the Goodreads group and will take part in the pitch party!
Sandra Cox says
Congrats to EC!
Shooting Stars Mag says
I'm sorry you can't do A to Z this year, but it's good to rest your arm – and that's great you'll be on top of it for next year! 🙂
C. Lee McKenzie says
I do like being ahead. That's so unusual.
Shannon Lawrence says
There's a lot of exciting stuff coming up! I think this may be the final year I can't participate in A-to-Z due to the conference I work on every year in April. So yay! I hope your shoulder heals up fast.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I like your reason for not doing the AtoZ better than Iike mine. Looking forward to hearing more about the conference.
Spacer Guy says
I know what you mean about the shoulder Lee, I cant go bowling anymore due to an injury. I sympathise with you about the pain – be very careful you don't sever the remaining ligaments and end up with a dislocated shoulder for life.
C. Lee McKenzie says
Oye! I don't like the sound of that. Good advice. Thanks.
Jemi Fraser says
Take care of that arm and shoulder!!!
I'll be cheering from the sidelines as well!
C. Lee McKenzie says
We should have coffee and chat while everyone's doing the alphabet.
Elephant's Child says
Woo Hoo. I am really, really pleased to hear that I have won one of Bish's books. Happy dances.
I am v sorry about your shoulder. Bodies can be inconsiderate beasts.
C. Lee McKenzie says
Glad your name came out of the hat! Congrats. As to the bodies, yes. We are subject to pain and problems, aren't we?
Jacqui Murray says
Congrats on the win! I'm excited for you. And sorry about your shoulder. This is my first year doing A to Z but I think I found you through that blog hop last year. It's a lot of fun.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I always find new people during that month, so that's one of the things I'm going to miss.
sage says
Sorry about your shoulder, but when you come cheerleading at my blog could you change out of the Green Bay outfit? May be a Steeler girl? 🙂
C. Lee McKenzie says
A Steeler, heh? I'll be sure to change before I visit.
Lexa Cain says
I'm so sorry about your shoulder. I hope the PT works and you recover soon. Not being able to type would kill me. But yay that your 2018 A-Z is ready to go! Your Featured Followers for authors is so generous and helpful. Yay for Bish and the others you've featured! I'm glad the IWSG pitch party is getting such interest. Feel better!
C. Lee McKenzie says
I love doing the FF. I always think it's fun to post about someone else.
Juneta Key says
Whoa, hope your shoulder heals fast. I know that is uncomfortable, for me when it something like that happened it was worse when tried to sleep so did not rest well. Hope that is not the case with you. Get well soon.
' Juneta @ Writer's Gambit
C. Lee McKenzie says
Yes. Sleep or, no sleep in this case, isn't helping. Thanks, Juneta.
Kelly Hashway/Ashelyn Drake says
I always enjoy reading the A to Z challenge posts.
Chrys Fey says
Oh no. I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder. Take it easy. I hope it feels better soon.
Libby Heily Author says
Hope your shoulder gets better. I had to go to PT for tendonitis. No fun but it helps! Good luck!
C. Lee McKenzie says
Even the word sounds painful, Libby.
Shady Del Knight says
Hi, Cheryl!
The takeaway from this post was the sad news that pain has spread down your arm, sending you off to physical therapy and putting you on the sidelines as we head into the A-To-Z. I am very sorry to learn that you are still ailing all these weeks later.
I'm more of a loner than a joiner. Hops and challenges in general do not fit my blogging style and therefore I automatically sit them out while continuing to support people who have faithfully supported me during the past year. I have only 5 posts scheduled for the month of April. If you are feeling well enough to visit me those 5 times I will be very appreciative. You know that I always reciprocate when you visit my site. 🙂
Please take good care of yourself, dear friend C-Lee. I hope your shoulder, arm and hand will be free of pain in the very near future.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I'll be around my normal route, so of course, I'll visit your place. I love visiting it. Thanks for the good wishes.
Pat Hatt says
Being ahead for 2018 sure is a perk. I just started 2018's a to z now lol ugg to the shoulder. My right arm is shot typing wise. Been typing with only one hand for years now. Hopefully the therapy works.
C. Lee McKenzie says
You type all that you create with one hand? That's amazing. It's also amazing that you've started the 2018s posts.
Carrie-Anne says
Sorry to hear you'll be sitting out A to Z this year. I hope your shoulder heals speedily.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I'm kind of bummed about missing the challenge, but I know I must.
DEZMOND says
which colour are we painting Easter eggs this year?
C. Lee McKenzie says
Does puce work or should I rethink that?
Liz A. says
I'm not even on Goodreads… I know, I should rectify that. One of these days…
C. Lee McKenzie says
The readers are there, so as a writer, I feel I should be, too.
Susan Gourley/Kelley says
Hope the therapy helps. Shoulders are tricky areas with lots of moving parts that can be injured. I'm skipping A to Z also this year.
C. Lee McKenzie says
There are several of us bailing on the AtoZ. I hate missing out, but I just know I won't be able to finish. As to those moving parts. . . yes. Shoulders are amazingly complicated. Who knew?
Hilary Melton-Butcher says
Hi Lee – I sure hope the shoulder comes right or better with the therapy … and completely understand you being unable to participate in the A-Z .. though having 2018's posts ready is good news … Congratulations to EC – she'll love Bish's book …
Good luck and all the very best – cheers Hilary
C. Lee McKenzie says
Thanks, Hilary. I'm sure your AtoZ will be fascinating.
Karen Walker says
Oh, dear, hope your shoulder heals quickly. Having had rotator cuff surgery on one shoulder, I am very protective of my other one. Good you're taking care of you.
C. Lee McKenzie says
Ouch. That rotator cuff is a painful set of muscles when damaged.
Christine Rains says
Spring cleaning is on my horizon too. I'll be cheering on bloggers next more as well. Hope your shoulder feels better soon. Have a great week! 🙂
C. Lee McKenzie says
You've got a lot going on. I know that.
Natalie Aguirre says
Darn it! From your title, I thought you might come clean my kitchen. Ha! Ha! Sorry your shoulder is bothering you again. Hope physical therapy helps. And yes, so much good things are going on with IWSG.
C. Lee McKenzie says
Of course, I'd love to help you with your kitchen. Then we could have coffee at the clean table and talk about writing.
Bish Denham says
Sorry your shoulder is bothering you so much that you've had to drop out of the Challenge. May it heal quickly.
Here to Elephant's Child winning the draw!
C. Lee McKenzie says
I am, too. I had a neat theme laid out.
L. Diane Wolfe says
I hope the therapy helps. When you're a writer, the last thing you want is a bum writing arm.
C. Lee McKenzie says
You bet! It should be my leg or some other appendage if I had more.
H.R. Sinclair, Southpaw says
I'm so sorry to hear about your shoulder! I hope the therapy helps quickly.
C. Lee McKenzie says
Thanks. I'm not a good or patient patient, so quickly is my favorite word.
Alex J. Cavanaugh says
Congratulations to Elephant's Child! She will enjoy Bish's book.
The list of participating publishers and agents for the #IWSGPit keeps growing, which is awesome.
No Challenge for me either this year. Too much happening with the IWSG.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I hear what you're saying. There comes a point where something has go. IWSG is one busy place these days. 🙂
