Mystery Blogger K’s 2013 theme: “All things about writing from A to Z”
K is for Strikeout.
I never knew this, did you? Here’s what the post was about:
“We owe the “K” for representing a strikeout in baseball to an early sportswriter named Henry Chadwick. In fact, Chadwick and another writer named M.J. Kelly are largely responsible for the scoring system used today. But whence the K? Chadwick already had “S” slated for “sacrifice.” So a strikeout became a “K”, after the last letter of the word “struck.” The reason a strikeout isn’t a “T” is because “struck” was the preferred term of the day. By the way, a backwards K means the batter struck out without swinging (looking).
Who was it? HINT: This blogger likes to cruise.

Wow! How cool to learn that about the letter "K" 🙂 And yay for DL…I can't even pretend to play, I'm late on this post. Glad I caught it though!
Andrea says
Gosh, these folks are right on, aren't they!

I was the stat girl in high school for the baseball team. I speak "K" and backwards "K." Yep, has to be DL.

Can't guess 'em all! Next time.
Michael Di Gesu says
IT's gotta be DL Hammons… Who else?
Happy Sunday Lee…
Cool facts about the strikeout…
C. Lee McKenzie says
Thanks, Michael. Hammons seems to be the choice today.
AJ Lauer says
Well, I knew K was a strikeout because one of my best friends is a die-hard baseball fan and spent some time explaining the scorekeeping to me once. But I have absolutely no idea what blogger you're talking about! Hah I'm not sure that if you did me I'd even know! *shakes head*
Still loving your theme though 🙂

Absolutely no clue on this one.

Loving your hints and this game, but sadly, this time I have no clue!
C. Lee McKenzie says
Next time.

Ha. Cruising has to be be D.L. Hammons!

He's darned popular here today.
klahanie says
Hey, you celebrity writer, you!
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar, a pawlet on the blogger's favourite airline, Blog Air, has noted the Cruising Altitude.
I knew that about baseball. Yes, baseball aka glorified cricket as in the game cricket and nothing to do with Jiminy.
Now then, watch out for foul balls.
Your starstuckest fan,
Klahanie.
C. Lee McKenzie says
You always make me feel important! I think I should pay you.
Crystal Collier says
The mystery blogger could be me, but I probably don't talk about that cruising loe often enough for people to know.
I did know about the K in baseball, but only because it was part of some trivia game I lost years ago. It's a fascinating tidbit.
C. Lee McKenzie says
Love trivia games. I'm just not very good at them.
Tina says
I had no clue, but going with the majority here 😉
I love baseball, but had no idea about the K. Kool little fact! Like something Cliff Claven would know…

Cliff would know this. That's for sure.
Lexa Cain says
That's really cool info about the "K" although the blogger's identity eludes me. (I sneaked a look at the other comments. You gave a great hint with "cruise"! Too bad I was too dumb to get it. Maybe I'll have better luck on Monday – see you then!)
C. Lee McKenzie says
Honest counts! Sneaking peeks is a good strategy.
Sherry Ellis says
I'm guessing D L Hammons. But I'm not entirely sure.
C. Lee McKenzie says
So do I give you .5?
DMS says
I don't know who the blogger is, but I did learn something about where the K came from! I had no idea! 🙂

C. Lee McKenzie says
Great!
Angela Brown says

C. Lee McKenzie says
Hi Angela! Great guessing.
Southpaw says
I'm with River! Cool fact, but I dunno the answer.
Southpaw says
I read the clue this time. I don't know how I missed it. It has to be DL Hammons.
C. Lee McKenzie says
Reading the clue always nets points!
Bish Denham says
I haven't a clue. But I learned something today about baseball.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I love it when I learn new stuff. I try to immediately impress people with that!
River Fairchild says
I didn't even know K meant anything in baseball! 🙂
C. Lee McKenzie says
I'm thinking of turning into something like NPR and becoming educational. This is my first stab at it. 🙂
Michelle Wallace says
Sounds like Mr. Blog Blitz himself… DL Hammons…
His blog name has the word cruising…
C. Lee McKenzie says
You're reading the clues, Michelle! Points for you.
