Good News
Yes, there is always some good news in the world. We just have to find it. And here’s one good news story. Josie Conlon rescued an abused border collie. The dog was never affectionate, having been so badly treated, but he suddenly started jumping on her, crying and nuzzling her chest. When she went to the doctor they found a stage three cancer. The detection of this tumor saved her life.
Yay for that border collie and yay for the kind woman who saved him, so he could save her.

I'd be glad to host you, Lee. Did I already volunteer? No, wait, that was a different book. You're one busy lady! Anyhoo, a guest post would be good. Doesn't have to be long, maybe link it to a short excerpt? Or anything you'd like. π

I would love to participate in your launch, we will be in touch!
What an endearing story you have shared about Josie and her rescue dog. I hope and pray everything turns out for the best for both of them. They make a cute twosome! I love hearing stories like this. Very inspiring.
We rescued our little black kitty Luna back in September. She, too, was abused and it took her a month to finally stop hiding. Most recently, she laid on my lap while watching T.V. and it took until January for this to happen.
DEZMOND says
there are so many cases in which dogs or cats discovered health problems in their owners, rescued them from accidents, alerted them to fire or poison, and we all know what when dogs lick your wounds they heel faster. And cats like to sleep and spend time next to a dying person.
Loni Townsend says
Dogs really are man's best friend. π
Congrats on the nominations! LOL, I don't know that I'd consider myself a zombie expert, but thanks.

Hey Lee,
GREAT news about the border collie and the woman. I'm all about dog love. And congrats on the awards. You are most inspiring and lovely!
I'll have to see how much schedule shapes up. I'm sort of busy with other writing and things, but I'll let you know. Hate to commit and over extend myself.
Thanks for taking the time to read my short. We received our prompts (1440 writers broken into 48 heats with different prompts per heat) on Midnight Saturday (Friday night), I slept on it, woke with nothing, raked all day, nothing, slept, woke with the idea of the gods, raked all day and formulated, had a manic Monday, wrote first half Tuesday, manic Wednesday and Thursday, wrote second half Friday, edited, revised, and submitted on Saturday, hours before the deadline! Whew.
If I make it to the second round (top five of each heat), we'll only have three days–2000 words. Thanks again for the well wishes!
Mark Noce says

How amazing and rewarding to save an animal's life. How people can be so cruel escapes me but I would not let these people off as easy as they do get off. They would be serving major jail time if I was able to wield that stick
Theresa Milstein says
WoW, what an amazing story about the border collie!
Congrats on the award. I see you passed it on to some awesome blogging buddies.

That is an amazing story. I love hearing them because they make you wonder about the world. Was it a miracle? Can animals sense stuff we can't?
Congrats on the awards too. Also, I'd love to do a character interview for your upcoming book. You have my email.
Chrys Fey says

Fascinating story. It's amazing what animals can sense. I wonder if humans could handle all that input or make sense of it, if we had the ability.

I love the typewriter in that icon. So colorful and retro! What a beautiful story about the dog, as well. Our dog was a rescue and people always tell me that when a dog is rescued, he/she somehow knows it and is always grateful.
